APRIL
April is a dedicated service dog trainer based in Victoria, Canada, with over a decade of experience in dog training and behaviour consulting. Originally from the UK, she made the life changing move to Canada ten years ago, where she discovered her true calling, helping people and their dogs build strong, life changing partnerships.
Before stepping into the world of dog training, April spent 10 years working in the healthcare field, where she gained firsthand experience in supporting individuals with diverse abilities. This background gave her a deep understanding of the challenges faced by those who rely on service dogs, allowing her to approach training with compassion, patience, and adaptability.
April is certified by both the IAABC (CDBC) and CPDT -KA
April has completed her service dog training with honors and holds multiple certifications, including:
Certified Trick Dog Instructor
Certified Canine Conditioning Coach
Certified Fear Free Professional
April is also an entrepreneur, co-owning and running two businesses focused on dog training, enrichment, and Service Dog Training. In addition to her hands on work, she serves on the Board of Directors for a non-profit organization that provides education and community support for individuals seeking funding for service dogs.Through this role, she is actively involved in advocacy, education, and creating accessible pathways for those in need of a Service dog.
What sets April apart is her deep commitment to creating meaningful connections not just between dogs and their handlers, but also within the community she serves, ensuring that every dog she works with is set up for success while helping their handlers gain confidence and independence.
